gift me a sanctuary
where you can perfect paper with pen
and i in your lap can read
noting the ordering of words
build me bookshelves
the length of the back wall
the front wall and the sides
surround me with books
make this room smaller
but worth it
purr pure poetry in my ear
and dress me in verses at high noon
till i think in bounded pages
curve my hand into yours
teach my skin
how you carve ink into letters
how it kisses paper
gift me words
offer me the dictionary on audiobook
let me listen to it
over and over and over again
as background music
every day
buy me a white fountain pen
wrap it in handwritten poems
remind me how diction betters
everything
bring me perfume
the scent of library
replace the wallpaper
with beautiful stationery
make me fall in love with paper
all over again
or just
stare at me as i read
till you remember
how we fell in love
stare at me as i read
till you remember
how we fell in love
